100 Days of Fun!!

Good Evening, Peeps! Kerri here...
Well, I am writing this inside the hospital because we are STILL HERE!! Dangit all to you know where! My daughter had a bit of a fever last night so they made her stay another night and let me tell you, she is NOT HAPPY about it ONE BIT. My hubby stayed last night so I could go to school today (it WAS the 100th day, after all!) and I am staying tonight so he can go to work tomorrow. Blecchh...

I was able to take a PLETHORA of pics today of all our 100th Day fun, so I thought I'd share! All of these activities are from my 100 Days of Fun Learning Activities Pack...

First up...100 year old students! I just love the bow tie and muu muu on these first 2 elderly folk...

Whew! I'm exhausted just remembering it all!! And the 100 Days Smarter fun will continue all week long, because as usual I have WAAAYYY to many activities to squeeze into just one day! 

Well, here's hoping we get to come home tomorrow! Hope you all survive the big V-Day on Thursday!!

Happy Appy??

Good evening, my friends! Kerri here...
Oh. My. Word. You will not believe what has been going on with my family the past 3 days! This post was supposed to be about my new unit, which I was so excited about, but instead I get to tell you about my daughter's terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day yesterday.

It started on Friday morning. She woke up saying her tummy felt funny. Sidenote: She ALWAYS says her tummy feels funny. She is a bit of a hypochondriac (I think it is a first born thing, but she must get that from her dad, cause NO WAY do I have a phobia about getting sick! Nope! NOT ME!!)

Anyway, I told her to buck up and get her butt to school (Mom of the year nomination #1), so she did but her tummy her ALL. DAY. LONG. We told her she was just nervous for her OCSA audition and to RELAX already!! 

Fast forward to Saturday morning, and she says her tummy still hurts but only on the lower right side.  Ummm, she means her left side, right? NOPE. Her lower right side. CRAPPERS, MAN!! 

Again, I told her to suck it up, put on her big girl panties, and get through her OCSA interview (Mom of the Year Nomination #2). Soooo, we made it to her interview and she felt HORRIBLE. Here she is in a forced picture outside the school (she was soooo not happy with me)...

 So, anyway to make a long story short, here she is after a trip to Urgent Care at noon (Mom of the Year Nomination #3-I should have taken straight to the ER!)  and then the ER finally at 8:00 p.m....

APPENDICITIS!! 

We got transferred to CHOC at 1 a.m. in an ambulance and she had her surgery at 6:30 this morning. Here she is in recovery, with her new elephant we named "Happy", because her nurse said her appendectomy was a "Happy Appy" since it didn't rupture on us! Gross, but thank goodness it didn't!

And here is one more of her walking the halls in her oh so stylish hospital gown, hospital socks, and portable IV stand...

So, there you have it. Major drama, and we survived, with a lot of people praying for her and God's hand on her the whole time. :)

Since I was nominated 3 times for Mom of the Year in only 2 days, I think I deserve it, don't you? Blecchh. Being a mom is so hard sometimes.

Well, I'm running on 3 hours of sleep and I am so so tired. How will I ever stay up for Downton tonight?? At least the hospital gets PBS! That's all I got to say!

So, here we go! First up, Snowmen in Sunny California!

Aren't these too stinkin' adorable?? One of my cuties had his Student of the Week celebration and his mom made these as treats for the class! I about died at the cuteness! Seriously, BEST. IDEA. EVER!

Next up, red sneakers!

I LOOOVVE Fridays because I get to wear my RED sneaks for Spirit Day. Love these laceless Vans!

Thirdly, random glow in the dark skeleton...

I just love the gifts my kidlets give me! I know this one meant a lot to him, and he was so proud to give it to me! Especially since it glows in the dark! :)

Number 4...Groundhog Day!

We made good ole Punxsutawney Phil this week and they came out TOO cute! But, I did not realize that February is spelled with a D. Dang the B and D confusion!!

Finally...Date night with Lindsay!

We had our annual grant dinner last night which we look forward to each year. We both received $1000 grants for our classrooms and we got to go to a fancy dinner last night to celebrate! It was AH-MAZING! Now, I get to shop 'til I drop and I am ALL ABOUT THAT!

Have a happy weekend, friends! We got my daughter's OCSA portfolio finished and tomorrow is the big day! I'll let you know how it went next week!

A Whole Bunch of Randomness Post, and a FREEBIE to boot!!

This post is going to SUPER random so bear with me!

Randomness #1-
First of all, I survived my first camping trip in our tent trailer! YAY me!! We went out to Julian on Saturday to camp and it rained on us through the night, but I did not get wet like I feared, so I guess that tent trailer thingy works pretty well! If you don't know already, Julian is a little town on the way to San Diego that used to be a gold mining town, and many of the original buildings are still there. Check out their school (yes, this is an actual working school!)

Isn't it so precious!!

We also took a horse drawn carriage ride and learned about the history of the town...

Love it!!

But this was the absolute best part of the trip though, since Julian is famous for it's apples...

Randomness #2
We FINALLY got the email yesterday that my older daughter's OCSA (Orange County School of the Arts) audition is THIS SATURDAY. Ummm, HELLO! Can you say FREAKING OUT?? I thought we had at least 2-3 weeks before we were going to have to be ready, but no! 5 days is all we get, sooooo...Nothing like a short deadline to get our REARS in GEAR!!

She has been busting a move on all sorts of portfolio stuff! Costume design, set design, makeup, photography!!!

A girl must have the proper OCSA audition outfit! Professional, yet cute!!

Wish us luck on Saturday! I'll let you all know how it went next week! :)

Randomness #3-
My puppy dog Roxy is the most long suffering pooch ever! She is forever being dressed in random things by my girls. Just look at this ridiculousness...I had to share!

Randomness #4-During Beyonce's halftime show, with a house full of people, our electrical outlet in the kitchen decided to smoke, spark, and make the whole house stink to high heaven! Thank goodness it didn't go up in flames! Needless to say, we missed Beyonce's performance. :(

Sooo gross! You can see the scorch marks going up the wall! YEESH!!

Randomness #5-I finally got all of my centers from my Sweets for My Sweety Valentine Unit cut out and ready to roll, because the big V-Day is next week already!! What the what! How on Earth is that possible???
