Digraphs, Contractions, Fact Families, and a FREEBIE (of course!)

Hi Friends! Kerri here...
I found these absolutely ADORABLE clipart sets on Scrappin' Doodles (don't you just LOVE Scrappin'Doodles! I know I do!) Here they are...

Aren't they the cutest!! I love the classroom pets one because the lizard reminds me of OUR class pet, Mr. Bojangles, who is growing HUGE, and who the kids LOVE to watch eat crickets...Nasty, I know, but he LOVES them!
We have been working on digraphs, contractions, and fact families in my classroom, so I whipped up these little centers to reinforce what we are learning. I wanted to use this clip art so it would not be holiday specific, and you all could use it any time of the year! :)
3 of the sets are on sale for only $2 each at my TPT store, and the 4th is a sentence scramble for FREE on TPT! YAY!
Click on each picture to go the my TPT store.... And don't forget to enter our giveaway by clicking here!! I appreciate all of you who have commented to win the beautiful prints my friend Karen has created, and for voting for my grant project. :)

Here are my newest center creations...

Have a beautiful weekend!!

Owls sentence scramble for FREEEE!!!

Hi Friends! Kerri here again...
Well, I am super bummed because I forgot to take pictures of our fantastic Fall Tree tear art yesterday. Boo! I will take pictures on Monday and post them then. They sure came out cute!

You may or may not know that I am O to the B to the S...OBSESSED with owls. They are everywhere in my life! Jewelry, bags, knick knacks, notepads, what have you. I love all of it! (Hmmm, maybe my next tattoo should be an owl??)

ANYWAY...We will be starting our 2 week unit on owls next week. Of course, I was inspired by Deanna Jump's incredible owl unit, and the girls over at Made for First Grade have a really great unit called "Creatures of the Night" on owls AND bats, which I also purchased. Can't wait to use them this month with my kiddos!

Using the fantabulous DIGITAL DOODLES clip art, I made up a little owl sentence scramble to share with YOU, friends! These owls, while not the correct colors you might see in nature, are the CUTEST owls EVER, and I know my owls!  I just know my kiddos are gonna go bananas when they see 'em! Hope your will too!
Click on the owl to download, print out, laminate, and put in your lit centers!!

P.S. I need some more owl ideas! Any other goodies out there you have found or made? I would love the deets!!

Top 10 Award and back to school freebies!

Oh my Garsh! We are so honored to have been given the Top 10 blog award from Heidi at Swamp Frog First Graders (whose blog is AMAZING, by the way!!) You have no idea how much we love the blogging community. I (Kerri) am seriously addicted to stalking other people's blog, and the ideas that you all have inspire me SOOO much!! Thank you all for your support of our little blog!

Sooo...here are a couple freebies that I conjured up (Harry Potter reference...yes, I am a geek!) this morning before church. The first I made using DJ Inkers September Whimzee (superdy CUTE!) and it is a spelling scramble recording page. I plan on using our Theme 1 sight words, which are basically a review of the Kindergarten sight words. I would love to put the letter tiles into little apple boxes (anyone know where I can find such cuteness?) since the recording sheet is apple themed. I got this idea from Miss Cara over at The First Grade Parade. She made an AWESOME spelling scramble sheet last February and she had heart boxes to put the letters in (TO DIE FOR!). I plan on making a new one each month, appropriately themed. I made a scrambled spelling sheet for March, April, and May last year (you can find by checking out the archives). Click on the apple pic to download...
Back to School Spelling scramble

Another freebie I made this morning is an apple themed Back to School Sentence Scramble, using LOTS of Kinder sight words as a review for my incoming Firsties. You could also use this in Kinder since many of the sight words are Kinder words! The clip art I used is Digital Whimzee, which I found through Michelle at Fabulous in First (I LOVE her BLOG!) You can find this clipart on ETSY, and best of all, she allows you to use it to give away freebies! YAY! It is super cutesy and colorful! Click on the apple tree to download the sentence cards and recording sheet!
Apple Picking Sentence Scramble

Enjoy my friends!! I would love to hear how school is going for all of you! 2 more days until my Firsties come!! NERVOUS and EXCITED and a little terrified...just saying!!

P.S. Check out these absolutely THE BOMB crate seats my friend Amy made for her Library (she is the new librarian at an elementary school in my district). She found Mr. Men and Little Miss fabric at Jo-Ann's (I about died, since I read all of those books to me kids each year!) Could they be any cuter?? Jealous...sigh!
