Feeling Lucky week! Plus 2 lucky freebies...

 Happy Sunday, friends!! Kerri here...
I am feeling just a wee bit bitter this morning, because although I love that it will be getting darker later now, I DO NOT appreciate an hour of my life being sucked away in order for it to happen. Yuck.

I'm also bitter that I have 16 report cards left to do BY TOMORROW, and whole bunches of you are already on Spring Break! So not fair! Our Spring Break is 5, count them, 5 weeks away!

So, instead of getting my report finished, I am sitting here doing what I do best, procrastinating by blogging. My favorite past time when I have something SUPER important to finish. I think this drives my husband crazy! He's one of those "get the job done, never procrastinate, line the paper clips up neatly in a row" type of guy. You know, the kind that makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth? :)

This week, we will be diving into all things Irish. I have my latest Erin Go Bragh! set of centers laminated, cut out, and ready to roll!! Here is what we'll be working on for the next 2 weeks...

SO. MUCH. GREEN!! Of course, the laser printer at school started to lose ink as I was printing these, and what color was it that was running out? GREEN!! So some of the centers have that faint limey, yellow look instead of the vibrant green color. DANGIT!

We will also be making these art projects and working with our March words...

We will also be doing some "Taste the Rainbow" Skittles math activities this week, which I'm sure my kids are going to be VERY excited about!! I think I might have posted this as a freebie last year, but here it is again, just in case you missed it!!

Okay! I'm off the enjoy the beautiful weather before I hunker down to finish my report cards! GAH!!

A few of my favorite things: In-N-Out, Cat in the Hat and Leprechauns!!!!

Hi friends!  Lindsay here . . .

Well tonight's gonna be a quick one because I have report cards due in THREE DAYS!  Yikes!!  Plus TONS of grading and (most importantly?) the Bachelor - The Women Tell All to watch . . . So you might say I'm a bit busy.

However there is much to catch up on.

Like the end of Ski Week - it was great.  I got to stay home with Baby Jack and just enjoy being mommy for a week.  We went to the little local zoo (twice!) had playdates, went to the park, and . . . shared our first In-N-Out lunch date!  (If you have never had In-N-Out before you will not understand the significance of this event . . .)

Of course Jack had to have his own burger and shake.  Sheesh!

Then last week was Read Across America Week, and the kiddos in Room 17 were busy finding rhyming words, writing the room, listening to Dr. Seuss books, practicing ABC order, unscrambling sentences . . . In fact there was SO MUCH  Seussical goodness that some of it spilled over into this week too, and we are still having fun!  Here are some of our class's favorite things from my Read Across America unit:

Read Across America ABC's  . . . the kids LOVED it!

Looking for rhymes in Dr. Seuss books!

And best of all . . . writing about their favorite "nonesenssical" book and WHY they like it! (Insert proud teacher face HERE!)

To go along with our writing activity, we also did a step-draw activity of the Cat in the Hat:

Which then got put into a collage of writing and art for our Kindergarten bulletin board in the main hall!

But alas . . . it is already March 4th (yikes!) which means that the Cat in the Hat is behind us and next up . . . is leprechauns!!!

Today we did a step-draw of a leprechaun and the kids wrote some juicy sentences about their leprechauns. (P.S. The pointy-toed shoes are my FAVORITE!)

And also, in getting ready for all things St. Patty's Day-ish, I have a brand new TPT unit that I can't wait to use with my kiddos: Lads, Lassies & Leprechauns {Math and Literacy Centers for March} - click the image below to check it out in my TPT store!

Here's what's included:

1. Bagpipes & Blarney Sentence Scramble (reading, sight words, comprehension)
2. Over the Rainbow Beginning & Ending Sounds (phonemic awareness)
3. Pot 'O Gold CVC Words (reading CVC words)
4. Luck of the Irish Write the Room
5. Feelin' Green - Rainbow Word Practice (practice of color words)
6. Corned Beef and Cabbage Number Lineup (numbers & sequencing to 50)
7. Magicallly Delicious Math Graph (sorting, graphing, counting)
8. Four Leaf Clover Countin' (counting by 1's, 5's and 10's)
9. Mulligan Stew More & Less (comparing numbers)
10. Merry Leprechauns Making 10's (addition facts with sums of 10)

Whew!  I guess that's about it for now . . . I'm off to claim my cozy spot on the couch and control of the clicker before my husband beats me there!!  (Yes, he watches The Bachelor with me  . . . But shhhh!  Don't tell him I told you that!)

Have a good night y'all!  Chat soon!

Erin Go Bragh...already??

Good Evening, Peeps! Kerri here...

Or maybe I should say "Who Dat??" since I am blogging from my hotel room in The Big Easy! We got here yesterday and we are having SO. MUCH. FUN! This was my favorite picture from today...a bead covered tree at Tulane University!

Is that not WICKED AWESOME?? LOVE IT!

So, this post is gonna be SUPER short and sweet because we walked about 5 miles today and I am soooo sleepy, plus I am saving all my cool vacay pics for my Five for Friday post-New Orleans Edition!

Before I left for my trip, I busted a move on my latest set of centers, because I didn't want it hanging over my head while I was enjoying my beignets and coffee at Cafe Du Monde (delicious, BTW!!), so here they are in all their green glory!!

Here's a little sneak peek...

And, here's whats included...8 fun-filled LUCKY centers in all!!

If you are so inclined, and would like to get a jump start on your March planning, you can check these out be clicking the Erin Go Bragh! cover picture above. :)

I'll be back on Friday with my Five for Friday, and I have some super cool pictures to share with you all!!

BTW, it is NOT easy being a vegetarian in New Orleans. I am seriously going to have to be rolled out of here on Saturday...blecch! :)
